Any experience with IV Secretin?

We did a few rounds when my son was 2. We definitely saw more language immediately after, but not for long, and we didn't see any other changes so we stopped. Soraya

We are getting ready to try IV Secretin with our 4 year old daughter. I am curious to hear anyone's experience with it.

When my son was 2 yrs old he never had a formed stool and if given any fruits he would get diaarhea. We did about 6 IVs of secretin and the GFCF diet and he has had perfect stool since. We were also able to take my son off the GFCF diet and never had another bowel problem except for yeast. From: Schneider

Do you mind if I ask what your son's gut issues were that cleared up? My son is definitely a "gut kid" and we constantly struggle to no avail. If Secretin may help, maybe we should consider it. What is the mechanism? I don't know anything about secretin at all...

IV secretin cleared up my sons gut issues permanently. We would also hear clear expressive language after the IV but the language gains would fade after several days. We did the IV's over 10 yrs ago when my son was just 3 yrs old.

We tried several more secretin IV's when my son was around 11 yrs old but did not see any changes.

Thank you for your responses. We are trying to make some improvements in my

daughter's gut. She does not have ASD but has Down syndrome and many gut issues.

Her older brother is recovered from ASD. She was GFCFSF until 3.5 (We started

her brother on GFCFSF before she started solids so she went right into the

diet). Then we did NAET for the kids and were able to come off the diet. Her

bowel issues neither improved or worsened. We have done Nystatin and Diflucan

and high dose probiotics with no improvement. Her DAN is now suggesting IV

Secretin so I just wanted to hear stories.

so are you sitting for hours or doing a slow like 10 second push?

we did the IV bottle but in a 10 second push and it worked GREAT! our DAN/immunologist did it in his office. it was like 200 dollars a pop but one of our best treatments
