Guest guest
Not being a DS'er, I don't know what you mean, but by the sounds of it, if the thoughts you are having are THAT intense, by all means, do your own enema at home before labor, and take one to the hospital with you as a backup. lol In the *old* days, every pateint admitted to L & D had to have an enema. But no more, because the majority of laboring women isn't frequent enough to warrant everyone having one. If something as simple as giving yourself an enema makes you that much more comfortable, by all means, get one to give to yourself. Way back with the Policy and Procedure change, it was added that if a patient requested an enema or laxative upon admission, the OB will order one that the patient can give HERSELF, but the nurses do not do them anymore. (*grin*) Best wishes! Sheila
