Guest guest
Hi - I am new to this group. I have a 2.11 month old little boy who was just diagnosed with severe verbal apraxia. We took him to Kaufman a few weeks ago. She was so awesome with our little boy, she pulled words and sounds out of him that we had never heard and he's been willingly doing them ever since. We are very interested in doing her 3 week summer program and she feels he would be a good candidate for it. Have any of you had experiences with that? If so, I'm hoping someone is willing to share. He will start Early Child hood special education preschool in February when he turns 3. We already butt heads a little, but not too much - but i get the feeling maybe they are a little put off that i am not just willingly signing and doing just what they want. I don't want to be " THAT " parent but i guess i will be if i have too. Does anyone have any tips on things i can do or say to seem less thretening (and knowledgeable?). Also, I am starting him on fish oil and vitiam e, but i am unsure of dosages and what not. Is there a website or file anyone can direct me too? Thanks so much,
