Guest guest
I read these post daily and love them. Lately I have noticed several different issues that I have found particularly interesting. 1) about breastfeeding post wls. I was told that this is totally possible and that we really are no different than regular moms. So personally I am looking forward (scared, but going to try) to trying to breastfeed. If it doesnt work well then we will try the alternative. 2) Getting pg right after having a baby. I too have thought of this. Thinking that since I was in the baby making mode lets keep it going. But I also worry about the implications it would have on my body. I would assume that waiting even just a few months would be beneficial to any woman. JMO 3)The nurse that told someone they would need an abortion because they got pg too soon. I had to take a few days to think about and cool down on this one. There have been so many women that have conceived right after surgery and had such normal and healthy pregnancies that I was totally shocked that anyone would suggest an abortion. Now my doctor wants us to wait 12-18 months, but I found out I was expecting when I was only 6 months post op and he was extremely supportive about it all. So unless you were have previous complications I would assume that you could have a very normal pregnancy despite how soon out of wls you are. Well this is all I have to say right now. Thanks to everyone for the great information and support given through this group. Congrats to all the new mommies to be. Congrats to all the new babies and their families that get to enjoy them now. ~Hugs~ Shalonda RNY 9/11/03 300+/17?/??? Dont want to know what the scale says now. EDD 1/8/05 with baby boy Malachi.
