Guest guest
Maybe some of that raised BP is from worrying over your dad. I hope you get those numbers down soon. try to relax, take a nice warm bubble bath with some scented bath beads and just soak and relax. Read a good book now that you are not working, anything that you find relaxing. Guest guest
Well, its been an interesting few days…On Sunday, I noticed my feet starting to swell more than normal. By Monday at work, I had a huge headache, pitting edema past my ankles, vision changes…So, I went for my 32 wk OB appt yesterday and wasn't surprised that my BP was up…it was the extent of how high it was and what happened after that that alarmed me. At the Dr's my BP was 170/102. He immediately sent me to L and D to be monitored and told me that I may have to be admitted if it didn't settle or if my blood work was abnormal. If not, I was to see him again this morning. Well, I spent the evening in l and d. The diastolic never went below 95, but because it was less than a 100 and blood tests were okay, they finally let me go home at around 9 pm. I went to see him at 0930 this morning – still with the pitting edema and the blood pressure was much the same as yesterday, though the diastolic went from 100 down to 95 in the course of many readings at the appt. So, the gist of it is I am now officially off work and was very sternly told to lie around and DO NOTHING. If it stays consistently over 100, I will need meds. If it goes over 110 then I will have to be admitted to hospital and chances are good that I will have to be induced prior to my due date, though they really don't want that at 32 weeks. I am okay with being off work, but am very disappointed because he will not allow me to take a trip with Dave this weekend for his high school reunion and some business in Edmonton. Its only a three hr trip and Dave has a great room lined up for next week at the Westin…but he was adamant that I stay put. Guess its for the best since Dad is still in hospital, but I am just a bit bummed. I am going to go snakey on " bedrest " …He didn't say I couldn't drive or anything like that, so I will try and get out of the house as much as possible if my BP is okay. I am to monitor it four times a day and need to go for another (my 7th so far) ultrasound to make sure Jorja is growing. My measurements are catching up, so I am pretty sure that will be okay (I am now measuring 30-31). Anyway, just wanted to update my yahoo buddies… Hope all is well with everyone, Hugs,

Guest guest
Aw geez , that sucks. Please don't go out too much, the risk just isn't worth it. Believe me, I can remember all too clearly when your at 32 weeks how that 40th week mark seems soooooooo far away, but it will go quickly. Plus, you don't want the meds they give you to bring that bp down. I ended up having to have it when they induced me with Hannah because I went into full blown toxemia. It took me 3 full days to recover from the meds they gave me for the toxemia. Please keep us posted and take it easy!!! Axelrod Under " House Arrest " ....
