Guest guest
My son has a lot of problems with this. My ped ALSO said to give the corn syrup or I could give him half water and half juice. As long as I do the juice he will go every day. I think if my baby didn't have a BM in 2 days I would help him out. I know how I can get when I don't go. I think letting a baby go 21 days would prob make for a unhappy baby. I think you should contact your ped or just go with your gut. I am not a mid wife, nurse or ped but I do have 3 children. My oldest 18, my middle one 15 and my youngest at 11 months. > >From 's textbook of Pediatrics, 15th ed., 1996, p. 814: > " Corn syrups were once thought to be a possible source of botulinum spores, > but recent evidence indicates otherwise. I was just repeating what our pediatrician told us (although my oldest was the only one who ever had problems...and he's 9.5 years old, so things might have changed as they seem to from year to year. *laugh*) My other two were nursed, so they never had a constipation problem (nursing babies RARELY ever have problems with constipation) Soderblom CCCE CD(DONA) CLD CAAC Student Midwife - Mesa, AZ CAPPA Board of Directors Doula/CBE/Pregnancy/Birth Photography Owner: Birth Story Diaries - real births, real photos http://www.birthdiaries.com Owner: SouthwestDoulas.com
