Guest guest
Thanks for the reply. was pooping daily on milk but not as much. Now she poops more but not daily. Her problem may have just been gluten. Not sure. She was never a big milk fan but craved all carbs and gluten. had chronic diarrhea and lost vital nutrients, craved milk and while he was on a no artficial diet he just did not get enough variety in him. He has never been constipated and when I give him milk it scares me. He pees so much. I am following up on all of this to see if it was just not enough variety or more. There are mainstream options which I will exhaust first and I do have DAN testing. For us though everyone in the family has benefited from eating this way. We just need to monitor. I just got off the phone with the EI nurse as she generously found a prek that would take him this spring to spare him from regression and therapy withdrawal (he loves his therapy girlfriends). When I got off the phone with the school he said a bunch of new words. Maybe he literally needs to catch up after all the changes. He really is doing well but I won't lie, fast changes scare the you know what out of me.
Guest guest
Funny you say that. The only successful gluten or dairy cheats I have had have been mexican food.
Guest guest
MSG is a food enhancer. It's adding to foods that don't taste good to trick us into thinking they are good. (It works, too!) I also think it's a little bit addictive in the sense that the more you eat the more you want! When restaurants make fresh food, they don't need to add it. In the US, companies hide MSG in ingredients with different names, because they know people want to avoid it. " Natural flavors " , etc. Bah! I hope the labeling laws are more European in Canada. in NJ > > Liz. Yes. (Notice that I changed the topic listing....) > > Mark had chronic diarrhea prior to milk elimination and then we had chronic constipation.... Once we got rid of the 'artificials' and the MSG; his bowels completely normalized. Yet, you know it was not that simple; he needed some help in healing the tummy which happened with digestive enzymes, probiotics & coconut keifer water. Mark will often feel lousy after a restaurant because of the MSG they put in food. I notice that his attention and speech suffers if he has it as well. While it is not the end of the world if he gets MSG, his performance is optimized when he stays away from it completely. Speech, attention, general health are all brighter and perkier. After a few days of restaurant food (as per traveling), he begins to get sick and the constipation returns. It happens very gradual so that by the 3rd day of travel, the child is pretty ill. > > It really has been a weird and tricky road. I cannot imagine what my childs current fate would be had I not tried the milk free diet. > > So.... I am learning to eat as clean as possible. We now need to learn to travel as 'clean' as possible. Fortunately we don't seem to have these MSG issues at the all-inclusive Mexican resorts that we go to. Is MSG more of an American/Canadian thing? I do notice that most of the food seems to be made daily from scratch at these resorts. > > Janice > Mother of Mark, 13 >

Guest guest
I'm confused, If your son is milder than apraxia and not truly alergic to anything why all the special diets and treatments? I totally get wanting to give your children the most organic and healthiest of options. But, why limit milk if both of your children seem to have more " regular " bowl movements and urinate frequently. The only thing I can think of with overly frequent urine (like every couple of hours) is diabetes. Is this a possibility that you haven't looked into (especially with a gut/weight issue)? > > Thanks for the reply. was pooping daily on milk but not as > much. Now she poops more but not daily. Guest guest
Milder than apraxia, true apraxia, yes. Not allergic: that we do not know. GI suspects primary milk allergy triiggered gluten sensitivity causing neuro stuff. Then he ws on bad water for two years. We just do not know. The diet was to addres poop and led to better things but I aked about apraxia for 6 months and really everyone said no, as well as autism. My daughter is NT, celiac and milk bothers her. Diabetes labs were negative. > > > > Thanks for the reply. was pooping daily on milk but not as > > much. Now she poops more but not daily. Her problem may have just > > been gluten. Not sure.
