Guest guest
My 3 1/2 y.o. is apraxic and responded very well to our interventions. It all seemed to be going so well but now we are experiencing stuttering. Not the normal word stutter but with sentences. She gets midstream and seems to forget what she was going to say. She'll just keep repeating the first part until she can get the other part out. It's hard when others aren't as patient as family and encourage her to 'spit it out'. I know it frustrates her when people finish her sentence or look to Mommy to figure out what she just said. She is far exceeding our expectations and the therapist stopped therapy 3 months ago for fear of her stuttering if she had any pressure to move forward. She has two older siblings that she has to really fight hard to get a word in which contributes to this as well. Any suggestions of some simple practices I could do with her to help her get her thoughts out fluently? I homeschool so we don't have any classroom pressures. Blessings, Tara E. Guest guest
TLP might help. There is a stuttering device that attaches to the ear that helps. http://www.stutteringcontrol.com/ > > My 3 1/2 y.o. is apraxic and responded very well to our interventions. > It all seemed to be going so well but now we are experiencing > stuttering.
