Guest guest
Hi Ivy, I am an RN who works on an advice line with new moms and babes. This information I am going to give you is from our protocols, but I am not a Dr and cannot diagnose. We go based on symptoms and then recommend a course of action (like home measures and when to see the Dr, etc). As far as our info goes, in the absence of signs of illness in babies (things like fever, abd bloating, not passing gas, weight loss, vomiting, diarrhea, signs of abd pain or sustained crying/irritability with no known cause), breast fed babies can go up to 7-10 days without a BM and not be sick. I know this seems like a long time, doesn't it? I know you are at day 5 now, so I would keep an eye out for problems...there are things your Dr can recommend you to try to induce BM's too... Take care and all the best, EDC Nov 10 > Hello everyone! > > Robyn-I cannot remember if it was your little Emerson but someone a bit > back posted about their baby not having a BM for some time.
