Guest guest
Hello Everyone, What a wonderful site. I was first diagnosed with pancreatitis on Nov 2004 when I had my first hospital stay. I was in such pain and vomiting like there was no end. They did a CT and thought I might have a gallstone. Neverless they sent me home. I now just got out of the hospital last week and they said I have no blockage. I have never drank liquor and I have no family history of it. I am an Type 1 diabetic for 26 years now. This last stay they just kept me NPO and then sent me home 5 days later. I have been reading up on this disease and wow is there a lot. I feel like my doctor is not acessing the problem in a direct manor. I have terrible lower back pain, itching, tired all the time, joint pain, distended abdomen, muscle pain and nausea. This is just a few of the problems I have. I also take 15 different meds a day and I have been on Vicoden 3 times a day and some days more for the past year. He acts like no big deal. After reading a lot on the internet and from all of your posts I feel like I need to light a fire under his fanny. Should I just go along with it and not ask for any more trouble or should I request that he be more forward in finding out just what is causing this? I haven't loss any weight I have gained. I am at a loss. If any of you have any suggestions please feel free to write me. Thanks in advance.
Guest guest
Hi ; I'm sorry you had to seek us out but I am glad you found this site. You will get a lot of support here. This is a wonderful group of people. The doctor that you referred to in your post; is he a GI doc or a general practioner? Maybe you should ask him to refer you to a GI doc that is a specialises in pancreatitis. Where do you live? Maybe somebody on the board knows of a good physician in your area. I think your instincts are right on the ball. You should look into this a little more. Do you still have a gallbladder? Did any body ever mention to you having a MRCP? Its an MRI that looks at the pancreas a little more closely. If I were you, I would be gathering my kindlin and lighting that match. I hope you feel better and keep in touch. Warmly,
