Guest guest
My heating pad is my life support sometimes! I sleep with it and sit on the couch with it. I take it on trips with me. I wish I had one I could plug into the power supply in the car! I have an electric blanket that does that and I LOVE it!!! I have not had any bad experiences with my heating pad and Lord know I hope I don't! Guest guest
I have to add my two cents worth on heating pads. I own several...one that stays at work, one for the basement couch, one by my bed and one that I use in my living room/kitchen(that one has a permanent extention cord on it!). My husband seriously looked for one that I could use in the car...an AC/DC adapter heating pad that would not drain the car battery. We have even looked at tone and The Sharper Image and the internet trying to find a battery operated one... no luck. I have tryed the Thermapatch for the times when we go camping/snowshoeing...but those just don't work too well (and if I am that active and moving around that much...it is got to be hotter than those patches get...cuz I am hurting more too!) That is my two cents worth...I am sorry that the heat didn't work for you . I am relieved however, to read that others are like me-attached to the cord! Hugs, Suzi B. Guest guest
I'm pretty sure that I read or heard that one must not place a heating pad directly on the abdomen. It should be placed on the sides, to around the back of the body. I can't remember the reasoning, only that it shouldn't be placed directly on the abdomen itself. Guest guest
, I went onto the net and checked up on heating pad safety use. It says never use if you have diabetes or on parts of the body to which you cannot feel the heat fully unless attended to, don't fall asleep with one, don't lay on one and trap the heat as that intensifies it and you can burn your skin even if the pad is on low and not to use if you have appendicitis. I have always used mine on my pancreas and my back to help ease the pain. I had to go check cause I get scared I might do something to make my pancreatitis worse unintentionally of course....lol!! Glad to read that there are no precautions specifically about putting it on your tummy. But thanks for your thought on that one. Every little bit of information helps. :-) Sandy in Ca > >
