Guest guest
Evening all, A few questions about diabetic testing. My husband tested one morning at the lab after fasting after midnight the night before. He did chew gum the morning before they drew the blood and that previous day he had his normal 24 ounse (sp) Rockstar energy drink and sodas throughout the day. When he came home he had his rum and cokes and before bed he had ice-cream and a cupcake. My question is do you think that any of this or even all of it could have contributed to a high borderline blood glucose level in the morning? He has to retest again by doing the blood, waiting and eating and then retesting the blood after 2 hours. I plan to not allow him any of this stuff the day before for sure, and defiantly NOT the energy drink a few days before. Do you think this will make a difference in the reading? I test him at home with my glucose monitor and he does not test high AT ALL so I don't understand him being borderline when he tested 3 weeks ago. Does any one have any suggestions or comments on this for me? Also I asked before about who started the posting about CP and ZAnax and a relationship between the 2. I want to print that out to give to my FNP. Thanks all, Sandy in Ca
