Guest guest
, My father sings for the Australian Opera Company. I did inherit a good soprano voice also, but due to my stupidity of smoking years ago and also the problem with my broken nose or whatever is causing the swelling, my voice is not very good anymore and I have nowhere near the range I once had. And you're not wrong about no practice no good playing etc...I played the piano up until my final highschool year with a perfect A in all my exams and I topped the state in my Theory two years running, but I haven't had a piano to play for many years now and am lucky if I can even manage a scale. I do hope to get one one day and relearn it myself and teach also. I can play the guitar..again need much practice, and I used to also play the flute above adequately. I have just bought myself a new instrument that wasn't too expensive, nor too big to store in my no room house..and will be teaching myself to play. If I can find someone to take lessons from, then I will be doing that also. I bought a Hohner Marine H20 Harmonica..(think that's the description of it). I can play tunes on it without any lessons, but need to learn it properly so I can have my husband appreciate one of the instruments he's always liked hearing...and I used to also be able to play a lap harp..not sure if that is the same thing as a Dulcimer, but it looks similar to what I used to play..I guess I just used to be a musically gifted child because there are many other instruments I was able to play at a decent level also. But times change and one can't always keep up with all those instruments and loses the ability..but not the longing. One of my favourite instruments to listen to is the saxophone...I love the sound of it...and there is nothing better than going to a symphony or the opera and listening to the singing and orchestra.. My favourite opera?...La Boheme...Carmen, Aida, Tosca..and Madame Butterfly..just to name a few *LOL*
