Question about the drug Protonix

Are any of you taking the medication " Protonix " ? If so can you tell

me why. I am on it and one doc said I had to take it forever and

another said I didn't. I know its for stomach acid but I dont

understand why I need to take it after having the total. Never had

to take it after the Beger procedure (a whipple that spares the

duodenum and antrum of the stomach). Anway was just curious as to

what ya'lls doc had said about it.
