Guest guest
I went in today and had my GTT. It was not pretty. My fasting glucose level was 67. After I drank the glucose stuff it went to 313 in the first hour. Then it dropped to 80 in the second hour. 30 min. later I was dizzy, sweating and feeling like I was going to pass out, my husband helped me off of the exam table I was laying on and they checked me and it was 39. They started rushing around and gave me glucose tablets, orange juice and cheese and crackers. My PCP was very concerned with the extremes in my levels. Needless to say I turned a 5 hour test into a 2 1/2 hour test. My PCP referred me to an endocronologist and I am seeing him tomorrow at 9:30. Hopefully he can something to help it. My PCP feels like it is an insulinoma or that my pancreas has burned out so badly that the insulin is going nuts. Have any of you had such drastic differences in your levels? Is it the beginning of diabetes this way? Heidi has shared with me about hers but I was wondering if anyone else had this type of experience. Thanks for letting me share my experiences.
