Guest guest
Donna, I did a search on the internet and came up with this site for you to look at. http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/diseases/facts/adrenaladenomas.htm The good news is they are benign. According to this website, adrenal adenomas are usually found in a CT scan for a different condition. Are unknown as to why they grow and if active can cause steroidal hormone production. They are symptomless. From scanning the rest of the site, I think surgery is done if absolutely necessary, but usually just monitored. I believe that the word adenoma describes the shape of the polyp. I have familial ADENOMATOUS polyposis and when they check for polyps in my duodenum, stomach and remaining colon, the pathology usually comes back adenomas found and the description i've found are that it is the size and shape of the polyp for being called adenoma.
