Guest guest
I'm the same..I can't see how someone can stay still with that type of pain. I walk around the house doubled over, roll over on the floor in as much as a ball as I can, bend over the seat of the couch, pressing myself against it as hard as i can...and one thing that i found seemed to help when I am in the hospital waiting for a doctor and my pain meds..is hanging over the stretcher with my arms flung forward and my feet off the ground. Must be something about leaning on my belly that helped. Unfortunately, I don't think that would work for me now because I have had so much abdominal muscle removed I can't even wear elastic around my waist without it hurting me these days. Guest guest
I know this is a few days late, but, I too pace alot during an attack. If I can't pace (because the pain gets too bad), then I'm down on the floor either curled up (knees to chest) or I sit on the floor in front of the couch and lean my head on the couch (sort of hunched over). Count me in too!! Kris in TN
Guest guest
Suzi, I totally agree, definitely a survival mechanism !!! I also breathe like I'm in labor. It doesn't lessen the pain, but it helps to occupy my mind alittle. Kris in TN
Guest guest
Pat, I have at times done my share of pacing and I still occassionally do it, usually when I'm bad enough that I need to go to the hospital, but don't want to admit it yet. Eventually, I end up going to the hospital. These days, I do my pacing in the living room as my bedroom is just too small to do any pacing in it. Kimber -- Kimber Vallejo, CA hominid2@...
