Guest guest
Hi , as someone who has degenerative disc disease in neck & lumbar .....have all discs bulging, I would definitely not rec. surgery & I have had 2 epidural nerve blocks & been on the Medrol dose ( 6 days steroids) pak, a number of times over the years & have not noticed any connection between steroids & attacks. Having said that though, the steroids triggered by herpes simplex that I have in my tailbone & have had for over 25 years & in general steroids are not the answer. I don't know where you live, but if in a major city I would reccomend the VAX-D, which is lumbar traction unit. I had a number of sessions last year & it can put fully herniated discs back in. However my ins. did not pay and it was very costly! I purchased a lumbar traction unit by Saunders, that fits under my bed afterwards, for $500. and it works just as well! So good luck.....if u work still, you may want a quicker fix, but surgery was never offered to me cause all my discs are bulging with spurs, so nothing but alternatives for me. I understand your pain....it ain't easy! take care, in ton
