Guest guest
Patty, I hope you're feeling better now. I am a nurse, and it makes me really cross when i hear stories like that. That nurses should treat patients in that way is just not on. I'd just like to reassure everybody - there are some caring nurses out there - honest! Sue (UK) - Staff Nurse in paediatrics. Guest guest
Patty, You have a lot to think about in deciding about the neurostimulator or the surgery. I have had a total pancreatectomy, but no islet cell transplant - in 2000. I am now diabetic and dependent on insulin, but i am so much better than before the surgery, despite occasional problems. It was a big decision, but, in my opinion, definately worth it. Take care. Best wishes, Sue (UK)
Guest guest
Surely this would be a case to complain about the nurse? She is under orders to give a patient a certain amount of medication, then dilute it down so much and not even administer the total amount? I wouldn't have stood (or rather laid down) to that. If it happens again, or even still I'd be getting in contact with the Patient Advocate at that hospital and having it investigated. I don't take politely to bad treatment in hospitals any more. I don't deserve it. We didn't ask for the illness and we get admitted to help with the pain and to get over the illness. Last thing we need is a nurse who doesn't wish to carry out the orders of a doctor and take matters into her own hands.
Guest guest
Oh my! That was an eventful trip to the hospital! Usually the nurses are the good guys! Glad you are away from them. They need to wear a sign around their neck! Angie in SC " The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything that comes along their way.
