Guest guest
I was wondering if anybody has had or has any info on transduodenal spinotuoplasty or transampullary septotmy? Or if anyone knows Dr. Henry Pitt? Dr. Pitt is going to do those two things in surgery on me March 10th and I was wanting some info. Or to talk to someone that has had those done before so i can know what to except. He says that I should be in the hospital about 7 to 10 days depending on how I do and if i get pancreatitis. So please keep me in your prayers and if anybody know anything about this could they please let me know. THanks so much, KY
Guest guest
, I had a Transduodenal Ampullory Resection, and don't know if this is similar to what you are having done. Basically, I had a polyp growing right at the Ampullar that was blocking my pancreatic duct and they removed the polyp, the lining of my duodenum, and resected the pancreatic duct. I tried to look up a septotomy and couldn't find anything on it. sorry I couldn't be of more help. Regards, Ward PAI Administrative Support Staff dceward@... Guest guest
, upon further investigation, I found that I couldn't find anything simply because the spelling was incorrect....but I ended up finding out what it meant in the end. My guess is that they are going to use an open incision at your duodenum and insert a balloon to open the pancreatic duct at minor? ampulla (this is where the pancreatic duct meets the duodenum). My other guess is that they will hope that this balloon will cause the duct to widen and remain open, thus allowing the enzymes to flow through normally again. In case you wish to try and research it further, the correct spelling is Septostomy. All of the articles related to the atrium leading to the heart and this procedure is performed on children with heart abnormalities or blockages. Because it is Transduodenal Ampullory in your case, I do know that that means they will be cutting you at your right upper quadrant into your duodenum. Hope this has been of help to you.
