Guest guest
Dear DeeDee, when I read your letter I thought I'd gone through a time lapse or something, I couldn't believe that all of this happened so fast and that you've already brought Kristy home, when it seems like just last week you were on the MB talking about more of her problems!!! Did I miss something here....it went from you're initially hearing about Dr. Sutherland's success with many of our members, and then suddenly Kristy's already been there, had the surgery and is home again! I don't even remember hearing of your plans to go. Wonderful, wonderful news....I am so glad that Kristy is home and already showing such good signs of recooperation! I do believe the TP-ICT is most successful on young, previously healthy patients who have not had other pancreatic surgeries already attempted, with only unsuccessful results to show for it. Both her youth and her previously untainted physical condition should be most instrumental in assuring that she has a good recovery with little or no complications. I'm SO happy that she's been given this second chance! Dr. Sutherland has helped many of our members, all with varying degrees of success. For some, the success has not been as positive as with people like Crystal or your Kristy, but many of those others had already experienced previous pancreatic surgeries and had other complications that they brought with them, which does make a difference in the degree of their personal medical success stories, I believe. Oh, if I'd only known four years ago what I know now......... I'm sure this has made your birthday a day to always remember.....lol, as if you would forget! Please keep us in your memories as you watch your daughter return to full health and vitality again, and let us know if there is ever anything more that we can ever do for you or KristyWith love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Guest guest
Deedee, That's great news. I hope Kirsty continues to improve. What a great birthday presesnt for you - although it perhaps didn't feel like it at the time, when you were waiting for to come out of surgery. I have had a TP - but no ICT, so i'm diabetic. That was 4 1/2 years ago, and i'm doing well. Best wishes. Sue (UK)
