Hello Heidi,

I'm just writing to wish you a good and speedy recovery. I was off

site for some time, as you know, while things were going on at

school and with my health (awful flu and chest infection which left

me very weak for some time) plus husband's health worries. I was

only looking in occasionally. (Jim's surgeon first had a holiday and

is now very ill with flu himself. We have been badly hit with it

this year. Will have jabs next year! So we're still waiting for a

surgery date.)

Anyway, I missed your operation hence the late good wishes.

I do hope things are settling now. I'm glad you had a fashionable

surgical shoe! NOT electric blue!

My head teacher has been back in school since last Thursday so life

should be a bit less hectic...that is, until Jim actually goes into

hospital. Frustration!

Take care and get well. Might just see you at the symposium if you

are going? I'm VERY tempted to attend, even if it means time off

school. I'm sure I'd get permission to go. Trouble is...it's a long

way to go for just a couple of days and I couldn't justify to myself

more time off school even if they would allow it...which I think

they would. I'll also have to look into insurance issues. We have

reciprocal arrangements with European countries to share each

other's health scheme procedures so I'd be sure of medical treatment

if needed, but, of course, a visit to the US would be different.

Also depends on how Jim is but he should be OK by then..IF they get

a move on with the surgery!

I would so love to meet everyone as well as the opportunity to hear

the lectures etc.

Do take care!

With love,

Fliss (UK)
