Guest guest
We have the " better in the sun " thing. I think it is a combo for us though. Salt air and sun. I worry about the ability of my son, to handle extra D only because he is little. Speaking of which, I better go take my d pills:) > > For instance, when I take Mark to Mexico and he is seaside swimming every day in the out doors, the child is magically transformed into a completely NT child. I cannot explain it nor can I seem to replicate the results at home.... particularly in the winter. I know that there must be something in our current 'indoor' environment of winter that affects him but I have been unable to ferrit out the offensive culprit. > Janice > > Have you looked into supplementing Vitamin D3 for Mark? Guest guest
I think he has the D but due to lack of sun he is unable to use it all and it clogs up his liver and system. I swear that is what the deal is with . > > For instance, when I take Mark to Mexico and he is seaside swimming every day in the out doors, the child is magically transformed into a completely NT child. Guest guest
Thanks for the link.... The thing is, I recently stopped supplementing vitamin D3 for Mark as his tests show extremely high serum levels in his system? Odd, right? We did some more testing on D levels so I am going to wait to see what his doc advises. It would make sense for him to need D3 as we live in Northern Alberta..... pretty much at the top of the world and get very little sunshine in the winter months. So, why are his levels through the roof? The kid's systems remain a mystery to me.... hopefully we will figure it all out soon. I go back to the doctor next week for the 'next step' of my plan. Janice Have you looked into supplementing Vitamin D3 for Mark? The fact that he does so much better " in the sun " but less better at home in the winter months (much less sun exposure in general) suggests lowered Vitamin D levels. People who live further north or in less sunny climates have even more issues.
