Guest guest
Hi all...just got released from the hospital...not much better, but I've been handling the oral medication, so they let me go. My vein blew on Tue. I think it was, and they have been giving me the meds via shots in my rear...I feel like a pin cushion! Those phenagren (sp?) and Dilaudid shots hurt like heck!! Lord have mercy! They started me on the pills today, and I kept them down, so I got to come home. The doc bumped me up to 4mg of the Dilaudid, so I'm pretty loopy at the present. They were going to do a central line this morning, but decided to wait and do it as an outpatient surgery so there would be more time for it to heal and less chance for it to become infected. Still haven't heard from Dr.Cotton, so I guess he's still out of town. I'll try e-mailing him tomorrow I guess. Well, we're all killed, so I think that we're going to " hit the sack " ...hope you are all doin' well, and hope to hear from y'all soon. Guest guest
Kim; what happened? I am so glad you feelling well enought to go home. I am sure your men were happy to have you back. When will you have the line placed? Its that phenergan that hurts so much and it does hurt like the devil thats for sure. What hospital did you go to? It was very nice that your husband posted for you. I had you in my prayers and still do. Dr. Co goes out of town often and maybe gone for a while. If things get really rough you can always asked to be seen by Dr. Hawes. He is wonderful and has worked with Cotton for, I want to say, 20 years or so. Elaine will get the message to Cotton, she is a very good nurse. Please let me know if there is anything at all that you might need and make sure you tell your husband thank you for letting us know. I hope that you continue to feel better and stronger every day. Warmly,
Guest guest
Kim, I am glad to hear you are home. I was worried about you. Take care of yourself and don't overdo it. How is the little man doing. I hope he did o.k. while you were out of comission. I know how hard that is, my kids hate for me to go in the hospital. My last time in the hospital was in October and they were not happy. They are worried when I go to ton that the docs will want to do surgery and I will have to be almost 3 hours away and they won't be able to see me. I keep telling them not to count their chickens before they hatch! Anywho, Take care! I hope the healing continues and that you will feel much better in the days to come! Guest guest
Kim, It's good to hear that your home again and managing to keep down your meds. I hope you've got a big, soft cushion to sit on, or can be comfortable reclining on your side for awhile. Though it's been some time since I've been subjected to all those shots in the bottom, I can remember them well from one of my earlier sugeries, and I remember that I spent most of my time lying on one side! I'd only let the nurses use one cheek for a pin cushion, knowing that if they used both there'd be no way I could lay flat without terrible pain. I hope Dr. Cotton returns soon, and that you get to get down there to see him. Too many of these hospitalizations with no corrective results on release could get really senseless. I hope you're feeling better with each day, and get back online and let us know how you're doing as soon as you feel better rested. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H.
