Deb,

You wrote, " Karyn, what conference are you referring to? "

The conference we are having is the Annual Symposium on Pancreatitis sponsored

by the PAI. This two day event will be September 16 & 17, 2005 in Indianapolis,

Indiana at the University of Indianapolis Medical Center. The agenda consists of

lectures by a variety of healthcare providers covering topics from general

pancreatitis, nutrition, lab tests, ERCP, surgery, psychosocial issues,

spirituality, disability, and more. There will also be dedicated time for

networking and getting to know each other. The sessions will also include group

participation and interaction, as well as standard speaker lectures. Housing is

own your own, although most people stay at the adjoining hospital hotel.

Discount rates are available at Methodist Hospital, which has facilities for

patients and families from out of town requiring outpatient services. Several

PAI members living in the greater Indianapolis area have also offered to host

anyone who would like to stay with them. Support will be provided to assists

with transportation t the airport or bus station. Many people have car pooled in

the past. Meals are own your own, but we usually eat at the hospital cafeteria.

The food is pretty good and offers a wide selection. We are considering having

an evening group activity Friday night. A donation of ~$25.00 is encouraged to

assist with operational costs.
