Heidi,

Thank you for sharing this website. I checked it out and was quite impressed. It

is refreshing to find a traditionally trained MD who incorporates both

alternative medical therapies as well as diagnostics into his practice. I found

this segment on the future of medicine interesting:

Bioimpendance is a measurement of body fat, lean body mass and water weight

using electrical resistance which is determined after standing and being weighed

on a special instrument. Vitamin and mineral and other nutraceutical testing

(antioxidants) are now available... Intestinal permeability for Leaky Gut

testing, Liver Detoxification, and hair analysis are available… Helper and

suppressor T cell analysis, an indicator of your immune system may also be

helpful. A measurement of Oxidative Stress is also available and is very helpful

in determining a patient’s ongoing reaction to free radicals as a result of

disease and or cancer.

I hope that this trend, integrative medicine, is in our future. The fact that

this CAM is incorporated into a traditional GI practice will make it available

to those who otherwise would not be able to afford it, since insurance will

generally pay for a regular doctor, but not CAM.
