Guest guest
I hope that every one is doing well. We have had a very nice blast of spring weather this past weekend that had us all outside enjoying it. I undertand there is a cold front making its way down now well at least we had a nice weekend. I have beenon creon for almost 4 months now, ever since the total pancreatectomy. I am thriving, had initially lost a lot of weight but recently gained 3 pounds (egads) dont want to gain. Anyway, I still have pain and nausea after I eat I dont know if its still my guts healing or that maybe the creon is just not working well enough for me. I am kind of afraid to try new enzymes, it took a long time to get adjusted to the creon, but I cant keep going on like this. I am also very fatigued. I dont know if it is because I am just starting to get active again or that I am not nutritionally sound. Also I had a splenectomy at the same time. I know that it can reduce ones ability to fight off infection and that is a concern for me. Especially since I am trying to find a new job. Sue mentioned that her surgeon has her on prophylatic antibi's. but I am a little wary of that; seems like one would build up a tolerance to them. Has anybody else ever had a splenectomy? Do any of ya'll know ways to boost the immune system? I take loads of vits and mins. I did get hit with a bad cold that really knocked me down for almost 2 weeks. The last thing I want is to get sick in anyway. Any info ya'll can offer on that would be appreciated. I do hope that every body is feeling well and know that you are all in my warmest thoughts.
