Guest guest
I enjoyed reading your story that you shared in your post to Kara. I admire your perseverance in pursuing your degree. Every time I read about someone going to school, whether it is full time or part time, I pull the thought of finishing graduate school back off the shelf. I know that I am on disability and that means, of course, that I am incapable of working. The strength that sustains me through the daily challenges of living with this disease comes from my hopes and dreams, and my belief that they will come to fruition. One of those hopes is that I will be free from the daily ravages of pain and able to earn an income doing something I love. I think it is vital to contemplate the issue of 'living / accepting life on life's terms' in the face of the challenges of chronic illness. For me, it cannot mean giving up on my hopes and dreams, it simply means redefining, as well as prioritizing them. Karyn E. , RN, Exec.
