Guest guest
DeeDee, I hadn't heard your daughters story before today, but reading her story in your letter to Kara left me very hopeful. I Keep looking for someone who is the same age as me that has had pancreatitis and knows what it is like, and when you said that your daughter is 20 (I just turned 20 March 4), it made me feel like there is someone else my age that kows how I feel watching all my friends going out and having fun and not having to worry about mediaction and pain. I would really love to tale to Kristy, (I was also athletic - Varsity Volleyball, and on the Arista board etc.) I hove that you pass this message on to her!!!!!!!!!!! I wish you all the best. -a
Guest guest
a, I didn't know that you are so young. I too am in my early twenties. I am 23. I was a freshman in college on the track team when the pancreatitis took over my life. I too like Kristy went to Minnesota and Dr. Sutherland removed my pancreas and transplanted the islet cells into my liver. I was 21 when I had the surgery. Now I have my life back. I am six credits short of graduation, and I am back on the track team. I have a stress-fracture right now, but before my fracture I was one of the top runners and scoring points for my team. I also am back to my music. I play clarinet in the Idaho State Civic Symphony. Crystal
