Guest guest
Hi All, I'm sorry that I was gone for so long, but I was in the hospital with another pancreatic flare up. I went in around 6pm on March 4 (a Saturday), about 2 hours after I took 2 of my cats to the vet. I think the running around to actually catch those cats made my pancreas hurt more, but it had been building up over the week, so I was just hoping I could get to the vet before I had to go in the ER. Luckily, I made it. (All my cats had ear mites and I 've been taking them to the vet 2 at a time to get them medicine for it and then I had to bring them all back in 3 weeks, so I've basically been at the vets every weekend for the past two months as I have 5 cats). It was actually one of the better stays, despite the fact that I was in for 12 days (I got released on Tuesday, March 15). The doctors actually listened to me and used my letter from my GI that states what general orders should be for a hospital visit for me when I have a pancreatic flare up. In fact, the admitting doctor was actually in the same medical group as my primary care, so he was somewhat familiar with my medical history. So, I am home now, though I'm having a little more pain than usual, it's nothing like before I went to the hospital. I'm sticking to full liquids for a while and then I'll go back to solid foods. I just want to give my pancreas a little more rest. Then hopefully I won't be back in the hospital for another year, which is what usually happens. I missed you all. I tried to get my mom to email the group that I was in the hospital, but she found out that her best friend was in the hospital again with a drug resistant pneumonia and not expected to live, so she was splitting her time between me and her friend . Unfortunately, passed away the day I was released from the hospital. She'd been having a lot of health problems since her triple bypass about 10 years ago or so, in and out of the hospital and her heart and lungs, both previously damaged, gave out. At least she's now at peace and not hurting anymore. I have a whole lot of email backed up and I'll probably delete a large part of it, so if you sent me a post and I don't answer it in the next few days, please resend it and I'll get to it as soon as I can.
