Guest guest
Hi everyone, I thought that I was doing ok ever since I had a CT Scan on Friday and have had minimal pain. Well that was until my GI called me today to tell me the results of my CT-Scan. He said that the tail of my pancreas is leaking alot and I have alot of fluid in me. He said that if I am not in horrible pain then he doesn't need to do anything right away, but this means that I am just a ticking time bomb. I can't go and do anything or make any plans because I don't know when the fluid collections are going to hit the wrong nerve and I am going to be doubled-over in pain. Also he said that I have to seem him immediatly on wednesday morning (I have a midterm then!!!!!!!!!!) and it sounded like there was something that he didn't want to tell me over the phone. All this info has just added a crazy amount of stress, I have had a cold now for over 2 weeks that I can't seem to shake and it is midterms time!!!!!!!!!!\ Well Sorry this is so long but I just had to vent about what has been happening in the last two days. Thanks for reading Hope everyone is having a " good " day! -a
Guest guest
Mark, I know that the tail leaking again means that if i don't already have I am on my way to more pseudocysts (I had a 5cm one aspirated in dec. and a 10cm one aspirated in feb) but the doctor said that if I get a fever or severe pain the I have to call him and go to the emergency room otherwise this leaking is nothing that they can stop, he knows that it is doing damage but the only alternative is surgery to remove at least the tail of my pancreas (there would still be a problem because I basically literally have no body of my pancreas left). He doesn't think that I am at the point where I need surgery yet. He says that he the only thing there is to do is watch how much fluid is leaking and if I develop pain aspirate again, they can not do internal/external drains thus far because my pseudocysts are in the worng place for that plus I am prone for infection. Thanks for your advice a
Guest guest
a, Well, that explains alot of your recent problems. I am so sorry that is happening. But at least you got an answer. I hope that you can hold out until your midterms are over and that your pain won't worsen.
