Guest guest
Hi all! Karyn, Rupesh, Angie, thank you for replying! I am so glad to be a member of this group that gives me so much information about CP and that has a lot of compassionate people. I have had CP for about 8years and for the first 7 years I was almost pain free but last year I had 2 major attacks and since then my condition has been unstable. Now I have daily pain which seems to change positions in my abdomen and the densitiy varies day to day. My concern is about TP-ICT and the development of stem cell research. In Japan, as far as I know, there has been no auto transplant of islet cells but there are some doctors who have learned about it in the US (One of them studied under Dr. Sutherland in Minnesota University and I asked him by e-mail if it is possible to have TP-ICT in japan and he replied they would like to start as treatment for pacreatitis) As to stem cell research, I often surf the Internet about the latest development and find that most scientists who study pancreatic regeneration concentrate on cure for dibates, not for pancreatitis. I wonder if there is any scientist or doctor who specializes in " curing " pancreatitis through tissue engineering. I believe tissue engineerign has a lot of possiblity!! Guest guest
Hisao, Stem cell research is such a touchy subject in the USA right now. It has some amazing possibilities. How do they treat you for your Pancreatitis in Japan? I was just wondering how it differs from our treatment in the USA. Have you had any surgeries for your pancreas problems yet? I have had CP for 2 years. I now have diabetes from it. I am going on March 30th to a doc in ton South Carolina. I cannot have any ERCP procedures done because I had gastric bypass surgery and I no longer have a duodenum. Hope you are having a pain free day!
