Guest guest
, Since the antioxidants do protect the pancreas from damage caused by free radicals, I guess you could say that they are preventative in that regard, but their primary use is to reduce pain levels and avoid frequent hospitalizations. I'm putting the link to a really informative site that discusses this, and also includes extensive information about antioxidant rich diets. You might want to review all the pages at this website to see if it answers your questions. http://www.pancreaticdisease.com/default.htm Is you doctor actually practicing at Mayo? I had a wonderful appointment with one of their pancreatologists by the name of Lange, at the Mayo Clinic in Jax. last fall. At least you're fortunate to be so close, I thought it was such a superior facility and staff. Your appoinment next week should provide you with many answers to your questions. Although your case appears to be mild right now, the symptoms usually do increase with time, and having a really good doctor to work with you from the beginning would be such a benefit!
