Guest guest
Greetings to everyone, new & long-term, young & old! I will be paying for my meds starting May 1st, when my medicare kicks in, and have been checking the cash prices. My husband could keep me on his policy but since he is the employer (we are self-employed) and I cost him $300. per month (for the drug part), am loooking for cheaper alternatives? This Oxycodone/Oxycotin family is like $198.00 per 60 & 155.00 for 90 of the Oxycodone!! I already get my digestive enzymes from Solgar thanks to , and find them superior to the Creon anyway, and only 12.00 per month verses $2500. per year with the prescription type. So is anyone on Methodone in S.C.? I hear it is much cheaper, and my friend in Canada says it works much better or just as well. Does anyone know if this is a state to state decision, cause I have been told that only the drug-addicts get the methodone in S.C. So I guess I have two questions: how effective is Methodone & is it cheaper? I can aford it to keep paying what I'm on now, but between the nutritional supplements I take, will really be feeling it in the purse!! I am calling Costco this am to check their prices as I have heard they are the cheapest, outside of driving to Mexico & with the price of gas that would not be to cheap either! I do best with Oxycodone 10 mg, 3x per day because of my bone pain, but of course this has tylenol & not good for the liver. Any advice or experiences with methodone would be welcome. Thanking you in advance & hoping we all have a pain-free day. Love & hugs, in ton, S.C.
Guest guest
, I see that you've already been told that you need to pick up a Part B supplemental insurance within 6 months to cover any overage. If you wait past the 6 months from your Medicare start date, getting this supplemental policy will cost you much more. I've already been checking into Part B plans with Humana and AARP. From what I've seen so far, Humana looks like the best option. Their copays and everything are about the same that we pay now, which is the minimal. You CAN get methadone in SC now, it didn't used to be legal in SC, but it is now. The problem is that you'll probably have a hard time finding a pharmacy that will carry it. None here in Bluffton will, because of the high insurance costs that they have to carry to protect against theft. My doctor in Savannah was going to put me on that, but didn't, because I couldn't get it locally. We were considering it because it IS very cheap and apparently just as effective as what I use now, (which is oxycodone). As for the oxydocone, that does not have any tylenol in it. It's a chrystalline powder that's derived from opium, and doesn't have any acetaminaphen or other additives that can hurt the liver. Hope this info helps. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H.
