Dear Crystal,

Somewhere along the way, I have not read your story on having the

TP/ICT. May I ask where you are from? Where did you have the

surgery done? How old are you? How are doing after the surgery?

I know I am asking a lot of questions, but my daughter has

pancreatitis also and is 35 years old. I am trying to gain all the

information possible for her. And I want her to have that surgery

so badly.

Please tell me anything you want and if you want to, email me at my

personal email address.

Each of us are like angel with only one wing,

we must embrace each other in order to fly,

Warmly, Jean

,

After the total pancreatectomy auto islet cell transplant you still

take the pancreas enzymes. It sounds like your son takes the same

amount that I do. I've been taking the same dose for about three

years now, and I had my TP/ICT two years ago.

Making the decision to have the surgery is a huge choice and not for

everyone. For me, it was the only thing. I decided to have it

because I was going no where and only getting sicker without the

surgery. I decided that making that type of decision, even if it was

wrong, was better than never knowing. Honestly, I couldn't imagine my

health and quality of life being worst.

I am diabetic. Not all of the islet cells were good for the

transplant. For me, the daily blood testing and injections are worth

not having any pain. Also, I live like others my age. Before I did

not do things that my contemporaries were doing. I didn't feel good.

Or, my friends would have food at every activity, and food would make

me sick. I didn't want to not eat infront of them.
