Guest guest
i am having some trouble baking muffins, cookies, etc without either burning the edges or having the insides uncooked. are there any preferred materials to be used (baking stones vs. stainless steel vs. nonstick) or techniques with parchment paper, or butter,or scd legal shortening. i have considered buying a small convection oven in the hopes that that would help. does anyone have any experience with this? i have already tried decreasing the temp in my oven to 300 for most baked goods. any advice would be appreciated. ethan is picky and won't eat anything that is the lease bit burnt. thanks very much, jill and ethan SCD 1/07 crohn's
Guest guest
Hi. I've had decent success with baking by placing a cookie sheet under the muffin pan or cake pan. and I ususally lower the temp and keep it in a bit longer towards the end. Also, sometimes instead of muffin tins, I pour the batter into an oblong pyrex dish with the the cookie sheet underneath. then when cooked I cut it into squares. mom to broderick, asd, scd 17 months > > i am having some trouble baking muffins, cookies, etc without either > burning the edges or having the insides uncooked. are there any > preferred materials to be used (baking stones vs. stainless steel vs. > nonstick) or techniques with parchment paper, or butter,or scd legal > shortening. i have considered buying a small convection oven in the > hopes that that would help. does anyone have any experience with this? > i have already tried decreasing the temp in my oven to 300 for most > baked goods. any advice would be appreciated. ethan is picky and > won't eat anything that is the lease bit burnt. > > thanks very much, > jill and ethan SCD 1/07 crohn's >
Guest guest
Hello Jill, I would reduce the amount of honey in your recipes. It is the honey that burns so easily. Another trick I learned from a cooking course is to lay a piece of parchment paper lightly over the top of your cake/muffins when the start to turn brown, this will prevent burning at the top.
