On the website BTVC, in the receipes section, there is a peanut butter

cake. In the frosting section there is an amount of peanut butter but

it just says a quarter. Does anyone know if this is a quarter of a cup

or teaspoon?

Thanks

Hi Kirsty,

For the frosting recipe with peanut butter cake at

http://pecanbread.com/new/recipes1.html

the amount of peanut butter should read 1/4 cup. The recipe works well

with any nut butter.

Wehave come to new conclusions about peanut butter especially if a child is not

" advanced " on SCD: I now choose almond butter where PB wascalled for before.

Please avoid peanut butter, many SCD adults report problems with peanut butter.

Peanuts

are legumes, and legumes are advanced foods. You may add peanut butter when

digestive

problems have resolved but watch carefully that there are no changes after

adding this

food. Peanuts affect the thyroid. PEANUT BUTTER SEEMS TO BE ONE OF THE MAJOR

REASON FOR FAILURE WITH SCD.
