Guest guest
I just wanted to share some hopeful news -- we took our 8yo ds who has uc to the gi doctor for a checkup today, and he was amazed at our son's progress. Last fall our ds was so sick and had lost so much blood that the dr referred us to a surgeon, saying we would probably have to remove his colon. We started SCD the next week. The progress has been slow, with backslides, but he's almost off the prednisolone, and back at school finally. At today's visit the dr said " you've made my day. " I don't think this would have been possible without SCD, and the tremendous support of our acupuncturist, homeopath, and the people on this list. And our doctor, while skeptical, was openminded enough to work with us as we tried SCD. He told us he's never had a patient who's been able to stick to the diet because it is so hard. Most of the credit goes to our amazing son, who has been willing to eat a very restricted diet (he can't have nuts, eggs, or milk, and can still only eat a very few cooked fruits and vegetables). We know we still have a long way to go, but we are so grateful he's come so far. With much thanks, , mom to 8yo ds with uc, SCD since Nov 06, 2000 mg azulfidine, 3mg pred (tapering)
Guest guest
, That is so wonderful. What a testimony your family has been to that doctor today by sticking to SCD, and showing such dramatic progress.
