Guest guest
I went Thursday morning and had the port put in...everything went fine until I woke up with pancreatic type pain...the docs gave me Demerol (I think) and Phen. until I was comfortable and then sent me home. That night and last night were pretty rough, but I got to take the patch off today and actually take a shower...that's a relief in it's self!! Looks like it's healing well, so all I have now are the Steristrips and they are going to come off on there own. I prayed and prayed about this last IV that they had to give me for the anesthesia and they actually got it in on the first try and found a vein in my hand!! I was SO thankful. I'm really hoping that this will help will all that sticking from now on. My stomach pain has gotten much better as well, so it looks like I'm on a roll! I hope that everyone is doing well and I hope that y'all have a Happy Easter! :0)--Kim S. in NC
Guest guest
Kim I know you must be very very pleased to have this all behind you; what a relief. Did they place it in your right chest wall? Putting a warm compress on it will help with the mild tenderness. I'm glad your feeling better and hope it last a good long while. Warmly,
Guest guest
Kim, So glad that things are looking better for you, and that the port is installed. Hopefully now everything will be easier for you, and that there'll only be good days ahead! With love, hope and prayers, Heidi P.S. I'm envious about the shower you mentioned!!! It's been 28 days since I've been able to get in the shower.....gee, wonder if THAT's why everyone steps back and lets me go to the front of the line at the grocery store?......only kidding, I can tub bathe, but have to wash my hair in the kitchen sink. Since I'm not allowed to put any weight on my recuperating foot and have to wear this surgical shoe all the time, showers are still forbidden. Can't wait for the simple, (and fast), luxury of a shower! Heidi H. Griffeth hhessgriffeth@...
