Guest guest
Hello all- my son is still reacting to everything, and i made several attempts to introduce new foods last week, but to no avail. I pulled them all back out, but he has several new behaviors we have never seen-flapping, toe walking, extreme humming. his case is very light-people generally think he's typical until they try to talk to him. However, he is keeping his gain-more words, good eye contact, initiating interaction. I'm worried about these new behaviors-he did have more major die-off last week, yeast colonies and all. he has major yeast issues. I'm wondering if this is a part of the 8week die off? do a lot of kids regress like this? here's what he's eating chicken pancakes w/apple, green bean and garlic hamburger patties bananas, raw and cooked 2tbs goat yogurt per day, sometimes " cheese " applesauce acorn squash Popsicles, or made into bread with banana and applesauce pressed apple cider white or purple grape juice supplements DMG fish oil L acidophilus B complex any thoughts? I keep hoping he'll get better, but the last 10 days have been really long! No illegals that I know of Teena Ben ASD, Dyspraxia, multiple allergies, SID 3 1/2 SCD 8 weeks
Guest guest
2 tbls is way too much for him....How long has he been eating that much? can you explain when you started adding new foods, and which foods did you start adding? Did you start with the intro diet? > > Hello all- > > my son is still reacting to everything, and i made several attempts to > introduce new foods last week, but to no avail. Guest guest
I did start with the intro diet-2days. I added squash, bananas the first week.I tried pears and he had a terrible hyper activity reaction. I waited a few days and tried apples, then green beans in chicken pancakes.limited pecan butter and olives were our last successful addition, except yogurt. We tried eggs, raspberries, blueberries, duck eggs, avocado. he had nasty reactions to all of them.I've since learned that the berries were too soon.I'm just trying to find something he both can and will eat. I added the yogurt, starting with 1/8tsp. you think I went forward too fast? how much would be a good amount at this point? Thanks a bunch, I'm desperate! Guest guest
Initial die off reactio can be pretty strong as bad bacteria put up a protest from bing denied their favorite foods. This hgappens even though you are now feeding good digestible food. Hang in. You may want to stop the yogurt and introduceit a little later. You introduced way too may new foods too fast. It should be a small amount of a food for a fewdays to see if it is tolerated. Nut butters can wait a while. Olives may be a problem. Raspberries have seeds. Check out this table of guidelines for introducing foods. It is not a hard and fast rule on SCD but many newcomers find it helpful. http://www.pecanbread.com/new/scdfoods1.html Scroll down on the page Carol F. Guest guest
-I did actually wait a few days in between each new food. he just reacted to almost all of them, so I went on to something new.I can't seem to make any bread-like items with out eggs, and he won't really eat meat with out a sauce. I guess I was compensating. I've looked through all the recipes at pecan bread, and most contain things he can't eat.*sigh* I guess it's back to squash and bananas with meat snuck in. Guest guest
My son gets green diarrhea from eggs...So i just use raw chicken instead of eggs...and I make sure whatever food I am cooking with in the oven is well done (using a thermometer) You can make the muffins and pancakes without eggs I use 3 chicken breasts 4 cups butternut squash I use 4 pears baking soda 2 cups of water a little salt 4 tablespoons coconut oil should make 24-30 muffins > > Initial die off reactio can be pretty strong as bad bacteria put up > a protest from bing > > denied their favorite foods. Guest guest
Thanks, I'll give that a try. Sometimes he'll eat something beautifully for a week and then never again. Wish me luck!
Guest guest
That long huh? Well, I guess we'll slow way down and figure he has his whole life to eat other foods. Somewhere in all this I heard he gets too much yogurt- 2 tbsp. How much would be a good amount? He seemed to be tolerating it ok.
