Guest guest
I have an incision from the middle of my breastbone to below my belly button. It is completely healed, ugly as all get out, but healed. Well there is an area about midway that has been tender for some time. I notice a few weeks ago when I was singing that it would protrude about 4 inches, then go back. I have been sneezing alot lately, dang pollen, and it does it then. I can also make it pop out when I stand by just pushing a little. It doesn't do it when I lay down but there is a lot of empty space in there now. Anyway, I am thinking it might be a slight herniation. I am NOT going to tell the doctor. I got a girdle thing but it cuts at my waist and that is where the " area " is and it bothers it. control top hose bothered it. The pain is not terrible, just annoying. I was trying to think of some way to support it and had looked for corsettes. Well the ones I found were a bit racey and interesting, not exactly what I was looking for. Any ideas? I would really appreciate any input ya'll can offer. Also, I have used needles from my insulin injections and dont know what to do with them. I have made some sharp containers that the needles cant fall out of on their own but I am concerned they may break open or taken to a recyling center and somebody could get stuck. Or worse they could end up in the wrong hands. I am clean, disease free, had myself checked a few years ago (another story all together)but if somebody was stuck by one somewhere they would never know that and that is scarey for them. What do you other diabetics do with your sharps? Should I bend the needles back before I drop them into the containers? I try to do that but often forget. I would really appreciate hearing what ya'll do with them. I hope everybody is doing well and that spring has given them a new lease or should I say leaf on life. Sorry, corny I know. Thanks ya'll. Warmly,
Guest guest
, my GI believes I have a hernia from one of my surgeries..is always a sore point hehehe...it is the place that gives me the most pain, and what I am now taking pain meds for (not all the time but when it throbs). I will be asking my surgeon when I see him this Friday. He couldn't feel anything last time, and my family doctor said they are hard to see if one isn't standing up...too bad a CT isn't done standing up she said *L* Now about those corsets *L*...I was in a lingerie section of a store the other day and they sold corsets that were made of a satin and bone ...I could always pick you up one and bring it with me when I see you...it was pale pink in colour...*L*
Guest guest
, I have a lot of friends who have gotten large hernias after their gastric bypass surgeries. In fact, not meaning to scare you, I have a friend who had surgery on hers and has been in the hospital for 6 months. She has a blood clotting disorder and that has caused her healing to slow down. They are using a wound vac etc, to try and help her. Yet, I digress! What I really wanted to tell you was this. We had a guy that had a tattoo put on his! IT was hilarious. It was a huge tattoo that went the length of his scar. It was not a real tattoo. It was one of those that lasts a few weeks to a month. He came to one of our support group meetings with it and cracked us all up. So in bikini season you may want to get one! LOL! Guest guest
, It was either Dillard's or Belks, but most likely Dillard's, where I found the corset. It isn't all that attractive in appearance, but it would make you look very svelte.....if you could breathe...lol! With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina Rep. Guest guest
Hi , As to the " shrps " , try taking them to your local firestation, the EMT guys and gals swing by there once in a while and then they could transport your container to the local hospital for proper total disposal. All along the way they are handled by knowledgible helpful people and your local fire station is not likely to be very far for you. Best wishes, Poncho - GA
Guest guest
Angie, I will never be seen in a Bikini *L*....my scars are pushed out a mile because of scar tissue buildup underneath them...I guess that is what keloid scars are??? I do want it fixed if I can have it done because it hurts me almost constantly. In fact it's easier to pick a day that it doesn't hurt... I am on blood thinners, so no blood clotting disorder for me *L*...they can take me off the blood thinner and my blood will be back to normal. Am now only on the coumadin because I have a port and to prevent a clot blocking that off.
Guest guest
That is an excellent idea Poncho, I dont know why I didn't think of that. They just built a new huge municiple building in this little town I live in and I'll do just that. Maybe I will bump into that cutie of an EMT that came to my rescue when I had that hypolycemic seizure. One good turns deserves another, dont you think...*LL*! I hope your doing well and thanks! > Hi , > As to the " shrps " , try taking them to your local firestation, the EMT guys > and gals swing by there once in a while and then they could transport your > container to the local hospital for proper total disposal.
