Laurie,

I'm so sorry that you've been feeling so terrible. Hopefully that

whatever it is that you have will soon get out of your system, and

that we'll be seeing more of you again.

Coming out of your medical fuzziness into this new format can be

challenging, I was having a terrible time myself at first, and didn't

have illness as an excuse...lol!, and still have trouble with the

horribly small print on replying....I just don't see that well.

One thing I finally learned to do that sets up the format most like

the old board was, and makes it much easier to keep up with messages

and understand where you are is to go to the " View " , which is located

at the upper left corner of the message box. Click on the View until

it highlights Summary/Expanded in blue. Below that the " As " should

read " Thread " . It took me a couple of days to figure this out, but

once I did, it set up the format to be pretty much the same as it was

on the old MB, and it's been much easier for me to keep up with that

way. I hope this helps you, when you feel up to posting again.

Meanwhile, rest well, drink plenty of water, and remember that your

friends in the basement need the same tonic as you do!

With love, hope and prayers,

Hi Laurie,

I was somewhat satisfied with my doctor at St. Lukes, that was Dr. Battiola.

I got hooked up with him from my first attack.

Then we had the problem with insurance and I had to go to a different

doctor, and that has not worked out.

I was on duragesic patches and I think oxycodone, but I can't remember if

that is the right pill or not now. He said that was reasonable and pain

control did allow me to do more. It also limited me from doing more, too.

I was impressed because he got me with Dr. Magill who specializes with

diabetes and between the two of them they worked well and had good

communication. They scratched heads a lot but the pain was better

controlled.

In addition to CP, I have type II diabetes that until recently was not a

problem, and high blood pressure.

Now, it is a different story and I think I will be looking for another

doctor. I am not happy with this one, and I am not real happy with the way

pro health care does things, one hand does not know what the other is doing.

I had a sinus infection and developed bronchitis but that information did

not get to my doctor, even though urgent health care is in the same

building, in the same offices as where he is. A while back I started

getting hiccups and suffered with them for nearly a week. I couldn't get

into to see the doctor, so I went to urgent health, and they gave me some

pill to stop it and within 18 hours they stopped. Something was irritating

my stomach. No surprise there. But again, I called to get a refill and

again he didn't know about it, and called me back 3 times over the course of

five days asking who prescribed it.

If I could go back to Dr. Batiola, I would.

Because of my finances now, I am even thinking I don't want to go back on

stronger pain relief just so I can get the job I want. If I were on the

duragesic patch, I couldn't get the job. I know that sounds stupid, but I

am about to loose my house over all this, and really feel I have no choice.

I guess with any disease, you really can't afford to have them in more ways

than one.

I will keep you posted on my search and let you know if I find someone
