Guest guest
We got the test results from my 2 year old's OAT. He does NOT have a yeast problem, and I have not ever seen any yeast indicators, but assumed he must have yeast because it's just such a big ASD thing. However he has a HUGE bacteria problem. Clostridium Difficile. Anyone dealt with this one? Anyway, we had stopped giving him spinach because I wanted to see if that was what was causing the green poop. After eliminating spinach, the poop is still green. I am taking this as a sign that the green is the bacteria die off. My son is taking only a few supplements, CLA, Mag Citrate, Zinc, and Acidophilus. None of which would have any real impact on the bacteria. So, I have to contribute the die off to SCD. The other thing is that while he is still occasionally having stools that are too loose or too hard, the vast majority are normal consistency, but green. Our dr. was very pleased with his progress after 2 months of SCD and encouraged us to keep it up. At the first appointment, my son literally laid on the floor for the entire hour long appointment. Yesterday, he was all over the place, exploring the room and checking things out and even verbalizing. It was quite remarkable to look at the change in the 2 visits. Also, my sons therapist came and complimented me on working so hard with him because he had made such great progress in just 2 weeks. Well, the sad truth is that I just had a baby and have not done one single therapy session with my son, but he is clearly making cognitive progress from SCD, there is just no other explanation. Anyway, just a good shot in the arm to keep at it even though it seems so difficult sometimes.
Guest guest
SCD won't get rid of that bacteria I recall. There is info on the BTVC website I think that tells you what antibiotics you need for that type of infection. - mamanme2 wrote: We got the test results from my 2 year old's OAT. Guest guest
, C. Diff will not be rid of with SCD. It must be treated pharmaceutically. After you have treated it then I would start taking something like GSE to prevent it from coming back. It is notorious for being a repeat offender! I have had it three times and each time I took Flagyl for it. Then I started GSE and have not had it since. I do not take GSE anymore but I did for a good year or two and felt that the combination of SCD-just plain good food and the GSE kept recurrances at bay.
