Hi, I just wanted to recommend a doctor that I go to. His name is Dr.

Lehman and he is located in Indianapolis, IN. I currently live in TN

and travel 5 hours to see him. I always find him compassionate,

understanding and very nice and easy to talk to. He has never

questioned my pain, instead is always trying to make me comfortable.

He is one of the top endoscopist in the country and his specialty is

within the biliary system, pancreas, etc. Alot of other people on

this board go to him too. I am originally from the NJ/PA area. I do

plan on moving back to the area in the next 1-2 years. I will still

continue to travel to Indiana to see him. He is the only doctor that

I completely trust with my SOD and CP. His name is in the files or

you can post again here and someone will give you his phone number.

Good Luck and take care

Kris in TN

I just wanted to that you all for your help. I went to my family doctor

this morning and he gave me donnatol elixir. he said that would help with the

pain attacks until i can get to a specialist. I have never heard of this

medication. can anyone help me???? I would love to have the contact

information

for both of these doctors. You are all so wonderful here. this is the best

support group i have ever belonged to. I have felt very scared recently

about these attacks. I have them when im driving sometimes and im worried of

what will happen if the pain continues to get worse during the attacks. Thanks

again for your help.

Hi Susie,

In the far reaches of my memory, that isn't so good these days, I seem to

remember Donnatol as a vaey old time analgesic. I do think it is narcotic, maybe

opeium or moraphine based. I have not heard of it in years. Likely side

effects could well be upset stomach and/or constipation. However at one time it

was

a most effective pain releiver. As I recall it was a compounded medicine,

mixed as individual perscription was ordered, if you need to have a script

filled

by a pharmacy you may need to confirm that a particular pharmacy has the

capability to fill the perscription. As i recall, this was also a medicine to

affect diahrea and teething problems in babies at one time.

Best wishes, Poncho - GA

Poncho:

wow!! that doesn't sound very good then does it??? I take percocet 10/650

for my herniated disc but it doesn't seem to help very much when the attack

occurs. What do you take for pain attacks if you dont mind me asking?????? i

realize that a lot of doctors around here are not very knowledgeable about

these things. He has told me that he has no doubt that it is a horrible

problem. He also said he has heard how painful it can be. I just want some

relief

from the pain. Hopefully the specialist will be of more help than my family

doctor. thank you so much for your help!!!!
