THE PACREATITIS GROUP

I was- all alone with this terrible disease,

I prayed and felt like God ignored my pleas.

I had no battle scars to prove I was in pain,

There wasn't anyone or anything to blame.

People didn't understand what I was going through,

They acted like they weren't sure the pain was true.

How could I make them understand the life I missed,

How I wanted this terrible pain to go away I wished.

I hoped there was someone out there that truly knew,

This disease and pain who knows what I go through.

Then one fine day I found a place on the Internet,

A group of people with the same disease, I met.

They helped and supported people who were in need,

People coming together to help and doing a good deed.

This site I found was called the pancreatitis group,

It was a place giving advice, comfort, and the truth.

They pick you up when you are down, out and really sad,

I love our very special group and all the members we have.

I felt honored to be part of this special group you see,

They saved my life since they understand this disease.

Well said Janet, even brought a tear to my eye. I am not going to

erase it from the reply as I feel it deserves to be seen again and

again. I write also, poetry and short stories. Maybe I will share

one of mine one day. I hope Karyn can add it to one of our links. I

think you have touched how each and every one of us feel. Thank you.

I agree with the others Janet, that was spoken from the heart and had

so much meaning to it. I am sure each person here can relate to it.

I am going to make a copy and give it to , maybe it will encourage

her to come over here and sit in on and join in on the groups

discussions.

Keep smiling,

Jean

Wow, great poem Janet! You did a nice job working in the way that it

seems like others don't understand, realize or believe the pain.
