Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I went shopping last night for an outfit to wear to a wedding and a wedding gift and was only shopping for 2hours. I am in soooo much pain today. I took my regular dose of Oxycontin 40mg and percocet 10/325mg at 6am but my pain is a 5 on a scale of 1-10. I was so swollen yesterday. I looked 6months pregnant. I hadn't had a bowel movement in two days so I took my Milk of Magnesia and that took care of that problem but I am still having the god awful pain. I called my pain doctor and he uped my Oxycontin 40mg to three times a day instead of twice a day and told me to stop the percocet. My pain doc always takes whatever pain med you are on away when he stops it because they want to make sure you take me correctly, so I asked the nurse if they wanted it back and she said no that I will be trusted not to take it. Well I have a problem with taking my med earlier than I should and use to abuse Lortab along time ago so I called my mom and asked her if she would keep my percocet pills for me so the enticement will not be there. It's sad to say that I have to be treated like a child but I don't want to abuse my medicine since the pain doc is so strict I take it like I am suppose to so I won't run out. Guest guest
Patty Iam so sorry that you are experienceing more pain. Walking always did me in too. I dont think you are acting childish at all asking your mom to hold you percocet. I think standing on the side of cuation is always wise. You had written that the doc told you that you needed 60% of your panc removed and you would be a diabetic. Shoot sug, if that is the case I think you should seriously think and discuss with your docs about the total with auto islet cell transplant. One surgey beats the heck out of two. I dont think they do it the the Ky hospital you referred to but I know first hand they do it at U of Cincy. I received excellent care there. It is certainly worth a long discussion with your docs. I have bookoo info on it thanks to (aka goutbuster) and if you like I can send it to you. They are mostly in adobe acrobat so you need that program on your system to read them. Let me know. I have to run shortly and pick up my kids from school and wont be back for a while. Do you have a computer at home or just at work? Either way, email me at cdrrn@... if you want them so I will have your address. I hope you feel better. You not what used to really just wipe me out. Pushing a grocery store cart. With a family of 5 it fills up quickly and I could never push it without have horrible pains. Thank goodness I didn't have one in a stroller then and my kids are big enough to push the buggy for me; or atleast help by pulling while I just steared. Did you ask your Mom is she can go with you to the MRCP? If I lived closer, I would take you, but you would have to buy lucnh..LOL! Guest guest
Patty, I am sorry that you are having worse pain today. I know how discouraging it gets. I hope that the change in medicine helps to calm things down again for you. Take care Kris in TN
