Guest guest
Do any of you have trouble with acid reflux? Seems like mine gets really bad around the time I have a flare, and takes weeks to calm down. I was just wondering if any of you have the same problem or if there is some kind of connection. As if there ain't enough to worry about! Hope that you are all doing well. Heidi, how's that foot doing? Haven't heard how things are going for you, and I was just wondering. Talk to you all soon! :0)--Kim S in NC
Guest guest
Kim, I did not realize I was having a problem until my last hospital visit. They started me on Protonix and I started having relief. I did not realize that the acid was a problem until it wasn't there. I take protonix daily now. My doc said it helps the enzymes to work better also. Take care, Angie in SC (where everything is greening up even my red car from all of the pine pollen!!) Guest guest
Dear Kim, I don't have any problems with acid reflux, but I do take Protonix as the acid reducer required for Viokase enzymes.Protonix is a PPI and it's excellent for acid reflux. I suggest that you talk to your doctor about this and plead with him to write you a script for Protonix. I take two 40 mg. pills every day, and I'll have to admit that I haven't had any problems with acid or food intolerance ever since I started taking them. Thanks for asking about my tootsies. They have healed very well and I have excellent mobility in my large toe. My podiatrist even used me as an example to one of the other patient's; telling him that " this is what your toe should be doing, if only you would do the PT as instructed " . The man's surgery was done three weeks before mine, and he still can't bend his toe, saying that the exercises " hurt too much " ! Having had orthopedic surgery earlier in my life, (kneecap replacement), I know how vital that physical therapy is, especially right at the beginning, so I've been a model patient in that regard. I still have to wear a sugical boot when I shower, and athletic shoes at all other times, and that part of it I'm getting sick of! I'm dying to walk around barefoot again, but think it's still going to be a long time before I graduate to that level. I have an appointment tomorrow morning, and can't wait to see what new changes I can make. Talk to your doctor about the Protonix, you'll be so pleased with the help it can give you, if he allows it!
