Guest guest
Debs, I too have experienced this and it is being blamed on a non working thyroid. Has yours been checked lately? They (the lab) claims adiquate levels or normal tsh levels are .40-5.5 BUT it really is 1.0-3.0, and even 3.0 they are thinking is too high. Anything else could mean trouble. Guest guest
Dear Deb, I have had this happen every time I've had an attack. I was told that it was from the inflammation going on inside me. No worries it does grow back! You will be in my thoughts and prayers, Rhonda
Guest guest
Debs- I have the same problem, I have lost so much hair. I cringe at the thought of even brushing my hair, I lose so much, I can't afford to lose much more. I have a cosmetology license, so I can buy Nioxin cheaper...but it is going to be a long time to start to fill it in, I have long hair too! I would say take vitamins, but if you are like me, they go through looking like they went in (no digested at all, so not a lot of help)Sorry I can't be of more help. Guest guest
Debs, Have you had your thyroid checked recently? We do have problems because of our malabsorption with the CP, but when my hair loss was at it's worse, I found out that it was due to low thyroid. Ever since I've been on thyroid medication, my hair has flourished....it's healthy, shiny, grows quickly and I have only normal, minimal hair loss. It went from about 200 strands in the bottom of the shower to none. Have your doctor check your thyroid. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina Rep. Guest guest
Afew years ago I was having the same terrible problem with losing my hair by the handfuls. The doctor around the same time increased my Elavil that is a anti-depressant. I also take 1 vitamin and 3 325mg. of iron also recommended by my doctor due to them having to give me blood a couple of times while hospitalized. When my Elavil was increased I started eating more and drinking lots of milk and I started gaining weight. Something I could never do and I went from 65 lbs. to 120 lbs. Then I noticed my hair stopped falling out. I just thought I would give you my experience, its an idea anyway. May God Bless, Janet

Guest guest
Dear Suzy, I know from ezperience that when I forced myself to eat at least three meals a day or at least a peanut butter sandwich and at least 2 to 3 eight ozs. or milk every night. Plus I took vitamins and the doctor put me on 325mg. of Furrous Sulfate that is an iron pill and I had to take 1 three times a day and you may want to use a stool softener. That is what helped me to go from 65lbs. to 118lbs. and my hair stopped falling out. Hope you try it and it works for you. Also Boost is also a good resorce for nutrician. Guest guest
After my bout with Pancreatitus, 4 months in the hospital, my hair was falling out, too. The doctor prescribed medicine called " Proscar. " It is designed to help you urinate more. The side effect is that it does grow hair! I used to be able to go 2-3 months before I needed a hair cut, now I am going at least 1 time a month because it makes it grow fast. Guest guest
Debs, if you can find them, take some gelatin capsules. If you can't find them in a store, check the web as I'm sure some online health food store or vitamin store would have them. These should help with the problem with your hair and good for your nails too. Also, Vitamin E oil or Cod liver oil, is good for hair too. Kimber -- Kimber Vallejo, CA hominid2@...
