Patty,

You wrote, " I am on the Oxycontin 40 mg every 8 hrs and off the Percocet.

I'm not sure if it is possible to have withdrawl. "

I am sorry to hear that you are having such a hard time. Please be sure and

nurture yourself. Regarding the possibility of withdrawal from Percocet: it

is possible, even though the Percocet has Oxycodone and Tylenol and the

Oxycontin is oxycodone without Tylenol. It is also common that patients perceive

the Percocet as being more effective than Oxycontin. This is because of the

pharmacokinetics involved in the metabolism of Percocet. As it turns out when

Percocet breaks down, the metabolites that are released in the combination of

ocycodone and Tylenol create a chemical profile equal to Dilaudid. This does

not occur with Oxycontin.
