Surgery or External drain for pseudocyst

Hi,

I think the saying no news is good news definitly true for me. I went to my GI

yesterday and he decided that I needed to have a CT-Scan immediatly, so after

seeing him he sent me down to radiology to get the CT-Scan where it took forever

to get an IV in me because it seems like the only veins I have left are in my

hands and the hands don't like to have IV lines, especially ones with high

powered contrast.

I called for the results of the CT-Scan today and the GI said that because

I am having pain from my pseudocyst and it keeps reocurring with aspirtation I

was down to three options some type of endoscopic permanet stenting (not an

option after reading the scan). A external drain that will be in for a minimum

of moths, maybe even years, or surger to tie the leaking tail of my pancreas

into the intestines. Does anyone heard of o surgery like that? Has anyone ever

had it?

Also has anyone ever had a external drain for a long period of time? I had one

for a few weeks and hated it and can't imagine having it for longer, but maybe

they are going to do a different type? Has anyone had external drains?

Please any sage advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

I am starting to see surgents this week does anyone have any questions that they

think I should ask? Any questions that you wished you would have asked?

Thank you so much for all of your insight,

a
